LUZ ALL ABILITIES SERVICES
Unlocking the ability in dis-abilityWe all belong, it’s just a matter of finding where.
LUZ APPROACH
At Luz, each program is designed around the individual needs of the student; integrating our coaches into a child’s support “village”, which often includes the family, therapists, and school personnel.
Developmental Educator
At the core of Luz is the role of the Developmental Educator (DE’s) who design, implement and monitor individualised programs for each student.
DE’s are multidisciplinary disability specialists with expertise in fostering the skills, independence and quality of life of individuals with developmental and/or acquired disabilities.
At Luz, we have a practical approach to implementing programs to support the learning goals of our students who experience challenges such as acquired brain injury, physical and neurological disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and other disabilities.
DE’s work closely with families, caregivers, teachers and other allied health professionals who may be involved in the support team of an individual.
Mission
LUZ Mission & Vision
We take the word “care” quite literally, as they all become part of our
caring Luz All Abilities family. Our participants vary in age – from early childhood
into their adulthood. We proudly become a part of their journey and see them
transform to learn to see themselves and the world around them with different
eyes.
A WORLD FROM OUR
DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATOR
“Luz is my family!
and I hope we can enjoy it as much as possible.”

Our Centre
Specific Purpose Facilities
In 2019 we moved to Lane Cove and built a multidisciplinary centre which includes 16 specific spaces for our students to engage in various activities. Including Yoga, Pilates, Arts room, craft room, gym, sensory room, and exercise rooms.
Sensory gym
A unique space, especially made and designed as a therapeutical environment. It is a room for discovering, learning and exploring motor and sensory skills.
Arts and Crafts
Where our students can get in touch with their inner artists. A space where they can paint, draw, discover and develop their creative abilities. This room is where we host most of our events, including parties, celebrations and events. Of course, all decorations are made by the children.
Here, students have a chance to work on their motor and sensory skills, improve self-expression skills and have lots of fun!
Indoor playground
Aside from having plenty of fun, this space allows our little ones to let go. In addition, it is a great place for our early intervention students to exercise motor skills whilst using their imagination.
Kitchen
A place where they can discover their inner Masterchef skills during our cooking classes. Besides the fun of cooking, this station is an important part of the process of teaching life skills, a step towards our teens’ / young adults’ independence.
Library
We carry a carefully selected collection of books that assist our students in various aspects and moments of their journeys. Also, it’s an excellent area for them to concentrate and work on their academic activities.
Social and Community Engagement
Social and community engagement is a core pillar of our approach. We engage in group activities in and out of the Luz campus. For example, a trip to the beach, a park or a picnic with other students.
